Danang, Vietnam
Danang is a beach town and holiday resort for many western tourists and Asian tourists. There is a beach side with mostly tourists and digital nomads and a busy city side loaded with mostly locals. There are a handful of sightseeing trips nearby like the Lady Buddah and a cave Buddah but mostly its beach and eating. No locals are on the beach in the daytime when its hot but at sunrise and sunset the beach is packed. Lots of nomad events and language exchanges so check Facebook and Meetup. It might be the best value with the best food around.
After you land and go through immigration, if you need dong (and it is recommended as cash is preferred) there are several ATMs right out front of the airport. Best to get some before you leave the airport.
Hoi An is a nearby town which some prefer as its a little less touristy. In general, many interactions with locals will go immediately to use translation software.
The coffee in Vietnam is wild with many varieties including an egg coffee and a delicious coconut coffee as well as the Vietnamese coffees you may already know. They are fantastic and absurdly cheap everywhere.
