Manila, Phillipines
Manila has a lot of traffic and it is best to stay to one area per day. There is a lot of poverty in places and you need to be aware of your surroundings and use normal big city common sense.
Bonifacio Global City, Greater Manila-This area is privately managed and has heavy security. It is nearly brand new and has tons of high rises and a giant pedestrian mall full of international chain restaurants and stores but you may find major music acts playing for free at the amphitheater along the mall.
Makati, Greater Manila
Legazpi Village is a cute and generally quiet area to stay in and have easy access to local ride sharing (here Grab is generally used). There are two parks, one an activity park and one a small nature park with rainbow colored eucalyptus trees. It is a short ride to Poblacion which is both a party and red light area with tons of bars, massage parlors and more.
